One of the rare years when both films that clashed with each other on the occasion did well at the ticket windows. On one hand, people paid tribute to Yash Chopra by thronging to theatres for watching his last film. On the other hand, they even enjoyed Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and his team’s slapstick, witty humour. Both films entered the coveted ₹100 crore club.

It's really difficult to keep Shah Rukh Khan away from Diwali. In fact, over time, Diwali has become synonymous with the actor. Even though critics panned the film, it was SRK's marketing genius that helped the movie make more than ₹200 crore at the box-office.
