It couldn't get bigger than this. Salman Khan, as the iconic Prem, and Sooraj Barjatya came back together after 16 years, and that itself for enough for fans to queue outside the theatres.

Another comeback of a popular actor director Jodi, Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan. The two weren't on talking terms ever since SRK got into a very public fight with Shirish Kunder. However, the duo sorted their differences out over time and they came back together to give this dhamakedaar Diwali release. Not to forget, Deepika Padukone’s  latkas and jhatkas.

Ever since Hrithik Roshan gave Indians our first superhero Krrish in 2006, people were dying for a sequel. Finally their wish was fulfilled on Diwali 2013. Audiences flocked to theatres to see Krrish save the world again. Diwali 2018 might see Krrish 4 release at the theatres near you.

One of the rare years when both films that clashed with each other on the occasion did well at the ticket windows. On one hand, people paid tribute to Yash Chopra by thronging to theatres for watching his last film. On the other hand, they even enjoyed Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and his team’s slapstick, witty humour. Both films entered the coveted ₹100 crore club.

It's really difficult to keep Shah Rukh Khan away from Diwali. In fact, over time, Diwali has become synonymous with the actor. Even though critics panned the film, it was SRK's marketing genius that helped the movie  make more than ₹200 crore at the box-office.
